Placing a Passenger on a Stand-by List

If a Passenger is not checked-in for the flight during check-in operation, it is mostly caused by an overbooked flight which means that there is not enough number of seats for all Passengers. Digital Connect Check-In handles such situation by placing the rejected Passenger on a stand-by list.

Each POS can configure whether the Passengers should be placed on the stand-by list when the number of seats in the plane is not enough and decide which priority code Passengers should be placed on this list with.

From the POST /dcci/passenger/checkin request perspective there is no change. Digital Connect Check-In automatically detects that during check-in operation the Passenger has been rejected because of not enough number of available seats. Such a Passenger is placed on the stand-by list.

The Passengers which has been correctly checked in (because had per-reserved seats) receives Boarding Pass. The Passengers placed on the stand-by list receives Priority Verification Card (PVC). Such a card confirms that the Passenger has been placed on the stand-by list.
