Security
Sabre APIs has implemented multiple layers of security for client applications. These layers include line security, authentication, authorization, and confidentiality. The confidentiality layer maintains the privacy of the data in a payload during its transmission. Sabre APIs use HTTPS with 128-bit SSL encryption.
SSL Certificate
SSL or Secure Socket Layer is the technology that creates an encrypted connection, and is absolutely critical if sensitive information such as credit card numbers or other personal information is transmitted.
The SSL Certificate renewal is a routine procedure performed every 1-2 years and applies to all Sabre API HTTPS URLs.

SSL Certificate Renewal FAQ
SSL or Secure Socket Layer is the technology that creates an encrypted connection, and is absolutely critical if sensitive information such as credit card numbers or other personal information is transmitted. The SSL Certificate is a small data file installed on a server that identifies the business entity.
The SSL Certificate renewal is a routine procedure performed every 1-2 years and applies to all Sabre API HTTPS URLs. This change will be transparent to the majority of our Sabre API customers as the new certificates should be handled by all standard application frameworks. If you have a more customized build system, you may require a restart or you may need to have the certificates installed on your client application.
As stated, the change is transparent for most systems and application frameworks and new server certificates don?t require additional configuration on the client application side. However, you should determine if your application requires certificate installation.
HP and Sabre will configure the new Certificates on the date/time provided. The change for each URL should require no more than 15 minutes; however, the change window will extend for 2 hours so that teams can monitor for any impact.
Error messages can vary depending on how Sabre API customers have coded their solutions. If you are storing the SSL Certificate locally and have not implemented the new certificate, your application will not be able to connect to Sabre API URL.

We have posted a document from Symantec (White Paper: Beginner?s Guide to SSL Certificates) on Sabre Dev Studio to provide more information on SSL technology. You can also access the SSL Certificates from the portal if needed.
