What is it?

The CKI FlightBoardingClearanceOverride service facilitates the override of a passenger boarding clearance status for the check-in process. The airport agent haa the following options to accommodate the passenger who does not have the clearance status:

  • Passenger boarding clearance override at the flight level.
  • Cancel passenger boarding clearance override at the flight level

Why use it?

Some government agencies prefer to perform a pre-boarding validation for the passengers by collecting passenger details in advance, and advise the eligibility of the passenger to arrive/depart from their country. SabreSonic Check-in determines whether to allow check-in, bag tag issuance, and boarding of a passenger based on the clearance response received from the applicable government agencies.

If an airline determines a need to override a passenger boarding clearance status, or if the passenger does not have a status, forexample, during an outage, an override may be performed for all the passengers in the flight. By doing so, the passenger will be accommodated on the flight. The status override does not change a passenger’s original status; it only allows the check-in process to proceed.

How it works

The service is consumed to override the boarding clearance for cross-border operating flights and not marketing flights. If a need arises to override multiple government boarding clearances, a single service ia made to override multiple mandates like DHS, APP, and iAPI Status.

Weive APP Status In the event of a planned outage, a need may arise to waive APP processing for the entire flight. This service facilitates waving of APP processing for a specific country in a cross-border flight. To waive APP processing for a country, the respective airport information in the line of flight must be provided.

Un-waive APP status In the event of an outage recovery, a need may arise to un-waive APP processing for the previously waived flight. This service facilitates un-waving of APP processing for a specific country in a cross-border flight. To un-waive APP processing for a country, the respective airport information in the line of flight must be provided.

Override DHS Status In the event of an planned outage, DHS authorizes the carriers to override the processing of BPPR request. And this feature facilitates the abiilty to bypass the BPPR processing at the flight level. When a DHS override is performed, both the DHS and the ESTA status will be overridden.

Override iAPI Status In the event of an outage, this feature facilitates the option to override the processing of Interactive Advance Passenger Information (iAPI) program at the flight level. The flight level override option is applicable to the flights involving the following government agencies.

- Canada
- United Kingdom
- Taiwan

Along with the capability to override the service is the capability to remove the override performed for the flight previously. Removing the override feature is applicable only for Taiwan bound flights.

How to use

For successful execution of the CKI Flight Boarding Clearance Override service, the requestor must provide the flight information such as airline code, flight number, departure date, and departure city.
