Suppliers connect to Sabre using the OTA_VehCancelRQ API. Requests are sent to the supplier through SSG and they form a response after the confirmation number has been recognized. The response is sent via the OTA_VehCancelRS API.

Booking cancellation is a two-step procedure: Initiate and Commit or Initiate and Ignore are provided as options to proceed or not to proceed with a cancellation request. A similar analysis and evaluation process is required to identify areas that can be supported by suppliers using their proposed connectivity, and to establish whether two-step cancellations need to be continually supported or if one-step cancellations are preferred.

Once a cancellation has been submitted, the booking is cancelled in the car supplier system, cancellation confirmation is generated (or the initial confirmation number is reused), and the supplier sends a response confirming that the request has been processed correctly. This is then followed by the removal of the corresponding car segment from the Sabre PNR.
